Welcome to NOEL Restaurant and Gift Shop

"NOEL" Restaurant opened on October 1, 1994 after serving as a church for 67 years. It served as the Jamestown CRC and the Jamestown Baptist Church. Although Jamestown CRC was organized in 1894, the present structure wasn't built until 1927. The CRC congregation outgrew the building and moved to their new church east of town in 1976. The church then became Jamestown Baptist and was used by them until Easter Sunday, 1994. They also outgrew the building and built a new church just north of town.

It was all to have a Christmas theme, because the restaurant was to be called NOEL, which is French, meaning the "Christmas Season."

Our Dining room is decorated year-round in an elaborate Victorian Christmas Garden theme. Although the structure of the building was not changed, much decorating did take place. All of the beautiful stained glass is original except for the large window in the back of the stage area; this window was purchased from Central Ave. Church in Holland, which was to be torn down. The window was installed to create a beautiful setting for the Silver Bells wedding chapel. Seven, 4 ft. chandeliers were added to help create the pleasant atmosphere. Antique furniture, pictures, and mirrors were also used to decorate the dining room. The floors, carpet, and all walls were redone. Leaded glass front doors and side lights were also added. Larger additions include the front deck and portico which add to the beauty of the building. Our main dining room can accommodate 150 people for a large banquet or reception.

In order to be handicap accessible, we installed an elevator making all three floors available. Handicap restrooms were installed in the lower level where one will also find "Sugarplums", our unique Victorian gift shop.

The parsonage of the church was also purchased and is now called the Holly House. The gazebo and porch were added to the front along with a handicap ramp on the side. The Holly House is our private dining facility for up to 50 people. The upstairs was converted to an apartment.
